Nesta’s Challenge Prize Centre is working with USAID and DAI to create a prize around tackling the fall armyworm pest in Africa. The basis on the prize is to attract digital tools which source, analyze and translate information for farmers to make timely, accurate, and relevant decisions around identifying the pests and combating the spread and effects of fall armyworm. This prize will accept applications globally with a focus on the Sub-Saharan African context.
The Visual Identity should:
put the emphasis on farmers/digital tools, not put pests themselves at the centre of the visuals (pests don't have a positive reputation among many audiences at the moment, especially since they are ravaging crops and putting intense pressure on food security) create a sense of excitement about what digital tools could do to improve farmers lives... be flexible, covering two types of audience:
Innovators we want to apply (primary focus)
General interest in agriculture, data and/or development (secondary focus)
